03 Jul 09 | Junee Pacific National train drivers will lose their jobs as the Junee depot closes down in 2010. 42 local drivers, some with over 30 years service will either have to accept a redundancy or apply for a job with the company in their northern Queensland operations. Pacific National has not offered the drivers a transfer to Queensland meaning any drivers will need to move north at their own expense.
03 Jul 09 | Success for dairy farmers Two NSW dairy farmers have taken out awards in the prestigious 2009 Dairy Business of the Year Awards. Neville and Ruth Kydd, who run 730 cows on their 371 hectare property at Finley, won two awards, being recognised for their business excellence in winning the Southern NSW category and also the Most Improved category.

The celebration dinner was a highlight with Heritage Golf President Tom Moore keeping the crowd entertained with a wonderful talk on the history of golf.

06 Jun 08 | Grenfell The Weddin Shire Council signed a memorandum of understanding with the Cabonne Shire, based around Orange and the Hawkesbury City Council from north-west Sydney that should a positive effect on bridging the cultural differences between city and rural life.
06 Jun 08 | National Shorthorn Show and Sale Dubbo is the venue for the National Shorthorn Show and Sale, with judging of bulls on Tuesday June 10 and the bull sale on the next day. Over 150 bulls suited for both stud and commercial use listed in the catalogue to go under the hammer in a traditionally strong sale. The bull sale will start at 10am on Wednesday June 11.
