Numbers jumped significantly this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the increase. Lamb quality was again similar to the previous sale, with good numbers of well-finished lambs offered, along with the plainer grades.
Numbers fell 700 short of the expected draw with some producers preferring to hold stock back owing to the large offering. Secondary cattle were well supplied over yearling weights and grades with lot feeder competition strong across all well-bred lines.
An upcoming RamSelect workshop will develop the skills of commercial producers to accurately and confidently select rams to meet their breeding objective and maximise their sheep enterprise return.
