Harden

On September 4, 2010 the bells of St Clement’s, Galong will ring out to welcome one and all to a Spring Festival showcasing talents, food and entertainment for all ages.

This year they will have over 25 Artist painting outdoors as part of a weekend Artist Retreat.

The Young Musical School will provide the music for the opening event planned for 10.00am.

Genevieve Jacobs from the Canberra ABC 666 will officially open the Festival.

Highlights will be the Universal Dance for peace that will be performed several times during the day and everyone will be invited to join in forming a great community building effort for peace.

Harden-Murrumburrah Historical Society will be opening their new sewing room display on August 29 at 2pm.

This will be done at the Old Railway Refreshment room bar in the Murrumburrah Museum in Albury Street.

A Pastoral Care seminar hosted by the Anglican Parish of Murrumburrah Harden will be held on August 26.

The morning will kick off from 9.30am. For $10 morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.

Forbes

The keys to the Forbes Apex Medical Centre were handed over to Forbes Shire Council on Friday after years of planning, consultation and construction.

The facility had a price tag of around $2 million and is designed to lure more doctors and medical professionals to town.

Morongla

Friday August 20 to Sunday August 22, the 11th Annual Morongla Sheep Dog Trials are being held at the Morongla Showground, located 15km south of Cowra on the Boorowa Road.

Over 200 dogs will compete in various divisions throughout the 3 day event which commences at 6:30am each morning. Entry for spectators to the trials is free. Canteen facilities available during the day.

Crookwell

Crookwell CWA Day Branch received a cheque for $10,000 for families who are still affected by the drought

situation.

This money was raised at the 19th State Trefoil Guild gathering held in Canberra recently.

Mr Garry Kadwell was the guest speaker at the gathering along with Mr Alby and Mrs Gloria Schultz.

A Sports and Trivia Quiz night will be held at the Crookwell Golf

Club, Saturday August 28.
