Forbes
The Lachlan River has received its largest flush of water since 1996 after a minor flood peak passed on Sunday afternoon August 15.
The river peaked at minor flood level on Sunday night with some inundation received.
The Bureau of Meteorology says the Lachlan River at Cotton’s Weir peaked at 3.7 metres but is now falling.
Recent wide spread rain has forced organisers of the 2010 Classic Outback Trial to postpone the rally event.
The rally was set to begin at Forbes on Monday, August 23, however Event Director Philip Bernadou has been forced to postpone the start date until Monday, October 11.
Mr Bernadou described the postponement as “a big disappointment” but said conditions were too wet for the rally to go ahead as planned.
