 Della's no seller for Iguanas

Della's no seller for Iguanas

13 Jun, 2008 02:58 PM
It's where the week's biggest political scandal began - a story that could jeopardise a minister's future - but it's been "business as usual" this week at the Iguanas Waterfront Bar in Gosford, staff say.

The venue has been the focus of intense scrutiny ever since reports of an altercation last Friday night, invovling Education Minister John Della Bosca and his wife, federal Labor MP Belinda Neal, and Iguanas staff.

But Iguanas events manager Julia Barnes said scandal had had not noticeably impacted business.

"No, it's been business as usual," she said. "There's been a few curious customers come in, but otherwise it's been like any other week."

She said Iguanas had a large number of regulars who had continued to drink and dine at the establishment.

"Our patrons are very supportive ... it's mostly a lot of local business people and other regulars."

For staff too, it had been a normal week, she said.

"We're all just trying to get our jobs done."
