A day of fashion, fun and racing at the Holbrook Races

The President and Committee of the Holbrook & District Race Club invite you to their Annual Commander Holbrook Cup Race Meeting and to support the McGrath Foundation which will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012.

Gates will be opening from 11.30am and the first race at approximately 1.15pm

The Holbrook races this year will be supporting the McGrath Foundation and the whole town is getting behind the event.

Tracey Bevan is coming to open the race meeting on behalf of the McGrath Foundation which is sure to swell crowd attendance.

The local business forum is running its own best dressed pink business window, with the business raising the most money for this fantastic charity winning free advertising in the local paper.

The Holbrook and District Race Club is also holding a movie night on Friday March 30, featuring “The Cup” utilizing the Race-Tech Big Screen for fantastic viewing.

It will start at 6pm at the Holbrook Race Course, adults $15 and children accompanied by an adult are free and all proceeds will go directly to the McGrath Foundation.

There will also be pink saddle cloths and strapper bibs, signed by Damien Oliver, all for sale on race day and again all proceeds being donated to the McGrath Foundation.

The Holbrook and District Race Club Committee are all very excited about the up coming race meeting and being involved with McGrath Foundation and hope to raise awareness of the need, especially in rural areas, for qualified breast care nurses to assist breast cancer patients.

Fashions on the Field this year continues with the Pink theme to support the McGrath Foundation.

There are great prizes to be won, so come along “dressed to impress” to enter the Fashions on the Field.

Entrants must be aged 18 years and over and a gold coin donation to the McGrath Foundation, is asked upon entry.

There is entertainment for the children including a jumping castle, snow cones and plenty of fairy floss on tap.

For the locals there is a free race day bus operating to and from the races courtesy of Greater Hume Shire Council & RTA Local Government Road Safety Program.

Buses will commence at 12noon to 2pm and return to the township after the races.

Pick up from local hotels, Returned Services Club & Caravan Park (Motels only by pre-arrangement).

Full bar facilities are available on course and the gate fee is $15 per adult and children under 16 are free if accompanied by an adult.

So come along to the Holbrook Races on March 31 for a great day out.
