Goulburn crash leaves three people and a child in hospital

Four people, including a child, are in hospital after a crash on the Federal Highway south of Goulburn in the early hours of Saturday morning.

About 5am, emergency services were called to the single car collision near the intersection of Wollogorang Road.

Two men, a woman and a child were taken to Canberra Hospital.

NSW Police said the woman, who sustained head injuries, was the most seriously hurt of the four.

An ACT Health spokesman confirmed all four patients were in a stable condition as of 9:45am Saturday.???

Police at the scene continued to investigate the events leading up to the crash.

The Hume Local Area Command Duty Officer Chief Inspector Brendan Bernie warned weather conditions were extremely foggy in the area.

"While inquiries into this morning's crash are still in the early stages, I am urging everyone to drive to the prevailing road and weather conditions and slow down," Chief Inspector Bernie said.

One lane was initially closed on the Federal Highway following the crash, but by 11.30am traffic in the area had resumed as normal.
